The Mesko brush factory was founded by the Messerer family in 1913 because the sandy soils of Franconia made it impossible for them to survive as farmers. Mesko was one of the leading brush manufacturers from the beginning. The production of the hairy tools of all kinds (there are over 10.000 different brushes) was almost exclusively handmade three decades ago. Of course, the technology has now arrived and so for example flat brushes for professional craftsmen produced to a large extent with the most modern production equipment. Since Juli 2018 Mesko-Pinsel GmbH has also strengthened the production of high-quality artist brushes and took over the Albert Bieringer GmbH lineo artist brush factory. It has been producing the highest quality of artist brushes since 1911 and now belongs to the Mesko enterprise group. At the Creativeworld 2019, the lineo artist brush factory will be presented for the first time under the umbrella of Mesko-Pinsel GmbH. In January 2022 also the Feurer Brush Company from Burk with the brand Kolibri was token over by the Mesko brush factory. It was also another strategic decision to enlarge the portfolio of artist brushes.
