A German family business
The story of ONLINE Schreibgeräte began in 1991, when Alexandra and Thomas Batsch founded the Bavarian company.
In 2014, son Alexander joined the family business to lead it successfully into the future.
Today, ONLINE is a leading German manufacturer of writing instruments and accessories for school and work.
Over 80 employees work at the Neumarkt site - the unique pens can be bought in over 60 countries around the world.

How ONLINE got its name
In 1991 we were looking for a suitable name. The name was supposed to be modern and at the same time make a reference to writing.
In the year of its foundation, neither PCs nor the Internet were widespread in Germany. ONLINE was chosen as at that time it was something brand new to be connected to the internet and thus "online". Since the name also included the word "line" the name seemed perfect.
