In 1948, Albino Bruno Mariotto, a cabinetmaker with a passion for painting began making easels in the small town of Ispra, Italy. His passion, creative spirit and expertise were the guiding principles for his easels. They quickly became the preferred easels for Italian artists.

For over 60 years our considerable experience and innovation in the Fine Arts has allowed us to perfect product lines for different painting styles, but more importantly satisfy the most demanding artist. Our avant-garde state of the art construction techniques guarantee that precision of production is maintained, while our master craftsmanship results in products with unmatched functional and aesthetic qualities.

In 1984 we patented the “MABEF Assembly Kit” which insures that all our easels are highly stable, easy to handle and assemble as well as being compact for storage. Special care and attention to the selection of the finest raw materials insures that all our easels and accessories are sturdy and solid with as little vibration as possible.

MABEF easels are made exclusively from dried solid beechwood from areas where replanting of the beech tree is immediate (we have just got the FSC Certification), insuring that future generations will be able to paint a forest “from life”. All products surfaces are finished with naturals oils to conserve them and enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Packaging is made entirely of cardboard with natural glues, which permit the cardboard to be recycled.
