Description

Williamsburg Artist Oil Colors

Originating from the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, Williamsburg now makes over one hundred seventy artist quality oil colors in New Berlin, NY. Milled in small batches, Williamsburg Artist Oil Colors are recognized for being richly pigmented and dense. Each color is treated individually, with each pigment ground to the nature of that specific color, preserving the wider range of differences that were common in the past. With Williamsburg, artists can enjoy the traditional richness and variety of handmade colors with quality and reliability that comes with the technical prowess of GOLDEN.

Williamsburg Artist Oil Colors offers a broad range, from modern colors to unique blends, but are known for their array of earth colors, in particular the Native Italian Earth Colors and French Earth Colors. Most colors are available in tubes of 37 ml, 150 ml and jars of 8 oz. and 16oz.

Golden Artist Acrylics

Golden Artist Acrylics

GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylics are the original line of GOLDEN Artist Acrylics and are known for an exceptionally smooth, buttery consistency. The Heavy Body palette includes the largest assortment of unique pure pigments in a 100% acrylic emulsion available to professional artists. These colors offer excellent permanency and lightfastness. There are no fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners, or dyes added.

GOLDEN OPEN Acrylics remain wet far longer than other acrylics and resist skinning on the palette during long painting sessions. Working time varies according to how thickly the material is applied. The unique properties of OPEN Acrylics allow them to be used with natural fiber brushes and for a range of techniques including portraiture, plein air painting, monoprinting, and screenprinting. Use OPEN Mediums and Thinner to maintain the maximum working time of OPEN Acrylics.

GOLDEN Fluid Acrylics have the same pigment load as the Heavy Body Acrylics, but in a viscosity similar to heavy cream. Fluids allow for smooth flowing applications while retaining color intensity, tinting strength, film integrity, and adhesion. Fluids blend easily with all acrylic colors, and readily tint gels, mediums, gessoes and grounds. Fluid Acrylics are extremely versatile, and ideal for fine brushwork, glazing, staining, water media techniques and many more. Mix Fluid Acrylics with Airbrush Medium for airbrush application of artwork including textiles.

GOLDEN High Flow Acrylics are an ultra-thin paint with ink-like consistency that provide incredible versatility. They can go directly from brush to marker or from dip pen to airbrush and more! High Flow's ink-like consistency lends itself to a wide range of techniques, including staining effects, leveling colors, calligraphy, and mixed media. With 37 new colors, GOLDEN High Flow is now the largest range of ink-like, professional acrylics available.

GOLDEN SoFlat Matte Acrylics has a flowing consistency, offering exceptional coverage and a leveling capability as it dries. This unique combination of qualities can only be found in SoFlat Matte Acrylic Colors. SoFlat moves beyond limitations, providing a velvety smooth, durable surface. The advantages of SoFlat are extended by its compatibility with other acrylic paints and mediums, increasing the range of creative effects that can be achieved.

GOLDEN Iridescent Acrylics may be used alone or with other colors, gels and mediums. All GOLDEN Iridescent products develop non-fading, non-tarnishing, metallic finishes. Iridescent Pearl is particularly useful for creating colors with pearlescent qualities.

GOLDEN Interference Acrylics offer a unique “flip” when viewed from different angles. Colors flip between a bright opalescent color and its complement. Over white or lighter surfaces, the color is more subtle and the “flip” effect is more obvious. Over black or darker surfaces the color is more obvious and the “flip” effect is less dramatic. Combine with GOLDEN Gels (Gloss) and Fluid Acrylic Colors to create an endless variety of colors and effects.

Golden Artist Acrylic Sets

Golden Artist Acrylic Sets

Acrylic Sets Re-Designed

Sets are often the first purchase for artists new to the brand or looking to explore new products. Our redesigned acrylic sets work harder to attract these customers by standing up on the shelf for improved visibility and space efficiency. Large, expressive application images grab attention and communicate key features, while prominent text communicates the concept and contents of each set. We also focused on sustainability — reducing the amount of packaging material, eliminating plastic boxes and shrink wrap, and sourcing certified FSC Mix paperboard.

Intro Sets are balanced selections of colors that provide an excellent starting point for artists looking to explore the working properties unique to each of our acrylic color formulations.
