About us

Based in Los Angeles, USA the Angelus Shoe Polish Co commenced trading in 1907 but it was in the early 2,000's that fifth generation Tyler Angelos introduced the acrylic paint range. Now Angelus Acrylic Paints are the worldwide market leader in all leather customisation and shoe art.

Angelus Acrylic Paints can be used on an unlimited range of substrates, the paint itself is incredibly durable and flexible. Additives can be added to ensure perfect results on fabric and canvas and even metal and plastics. Finishers can be added to provide the perfect matt, satin or gloss finish required, and the new 4 Coat Urethane range of finishers are the most durable on the market.

The Angelus Acrylic Paint colour range is vast. There are 84 standard colours, 27 special collection colours, 12 Pearlescent and Metallic colurs, 12 neon colours. All these are fully mixable to achieve the perfect shade. In addition there are 19 special Glitterlite colours.

Angelus have also introduced an exciting range of art accessories including the popular packs of standard and detailled nylon brushes, paint pots, gift sets, colour shade wheels, marker pens, aprons, sandpaper, masking tapes and much more.

For leather workers there are separate ranges of specialist leather and suede dyes which are spirit based penetrating permanent dyes. These ranges of dyes are complemented by a full range of Angelus leather cleaners and polishes.

On display will also be two other famous brands Rit Dye and Spree.

Rit Dye was founded in 1918 and is now based in Bridgeview, Illinois, USA and is the world's leading fabric dye manufacturer. Rit Dye is non toxic and environmentally friendly. All colours are fully mixable and are simple to use without the need of a washing machine. Rit Dye can be used on all types of fabrics both natural and man made.

Spree, from Sofia, Bulgaria provide an excellent range of stationery, back to school products and art supplies. A selection of the Spree range will be on display on the Angelus stand.

Charles Birch Ltd is the European distributor for the Angelus and Rit Dye brands as well as the UK and Ireland distributor for the Spree brand. Based in Leeds, Yorkshire, Charles Birch Ltd is the largest supplier to the UK footwear accessory market and is now successfully diversifying into the arts and crafts trade.

Angelus Acrylic Paint

Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint is the leader in custom leather colourings. Angelys paint will not crack, peel or fade when prepped and applied correctly.

There are 84 standard colours, 27 special collection colours, 12 metallic and pearlescent colours and 12 neon colours available in Angelus Paint all of which are fully mixable and easily blendable. The Angelus paint is easy to use, simply apply with a brush, sponge or airbursh. The paints are water based for an easy clean up.

For use on leather, fabirc, metal, plastic and more. With the help of Angelus additives such as the 2-Hard and 2-Thin Angelus Acrylic Paint can be used on all materials.

Rit DyeMore Liquid Dye

Rit Dymore Liquid Dye is specially designed for synthetic fabric and fabric blends which include 35% or more of polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon.

Dyeing must take place in a stainless steel pan on the stove to maintain high water temperature.

15 fully mixable colours available.

Angelus 4-Coat Finishers

Angelus 4-Coat-Finisher sind so formuliert, dass sie die langlebigsten, flexibelsten und kratzfeststen Klarlacke auf dem Markt sind.

Angelus Glitterlites Paint

Angelus Glitterlites are a paintable glitter without mess or glue.

Apply the Glitterlite paint in layers as if using an acrylic paint. Allow the Glitterlites to dry between layers. Once dry the Glitterlites will not crack, peel or flake.

Available in 19 colours.

Rit All-Purpose Dye

Rit All-Purpose Dye is a true classic and has a legacy of revitalizing goods both new and old for over a century. This versatile dye is designed to enhance the vibrancy of natural fabrics such as cotton, wool, and silk, as well as synthetic materials like nylon and rayon.
