SIO-2 Hobby Ceramics Clay

SIO-2 Hobby Ceramics Clay

CERAMICA COLLET S.A.

Description

SIO-2® Hobby Ceramics clays are especially suitable for beginners in the exciting world of ceramics, as they have a wide firing range between 1000ºC and 1260ºC.

All the clays contain 40% chamotte, which provides excellent behavior during drying and firing. The range includes two textures of chamotte: ultrafine, for pieces with fine details and a smooth surface, and rough, to work with more complex pieces or pieces with character.

Hobby Ceramics clays are available in white, black and tan brown, after firing.

Because of their extraordinary plasticity, they are also ideal for modelling and sculpture.

What makes SIO-2 hobby ceramics clay different?

Compared to other potter's clays, SIO-2 hobby ceramics clay has extraordinary plasticity for modelling and sculpture; it contains 40% chamotte (grog), which allows exceptional behavior during drying and firing, and has a wide firing range between 1000ºC and 1260ºC, which facilitates finishing and minimizes risks when firing in the kiln. In other words, it is an "all terrain" clay.

COLORPLUS Couloured Natural Self-Hardening Clay

SIO-2 COLOR PLUS® is coloured natural self-hardening clay. No firing is necessary, achieving great hardness and solidity after drying. Once dry, the clay can be painted with any type of paint or varnish. It can also be polished, carved or drilled.

COLOR PLUS is ideal for children's use (4+), being a very suitable material in the development of the creativity skills and plastic expression. It is also ideal for handicrafts.

All the clay colors can be mixed, as well as with PLUS clay clours, so that unlimited shades of colour can be obtained without the need to use paints.

COLOR PLUS clay has a soft and fine texture to the touch. It is odorless and has very good plasticity for modelling (it can be thrown on a potter's wheel). The presence of natural cellulose fibers allows safe drying without cracks or fissures, even in large pieces.

Conforms to European EN-71 and USA (AP non-toxic product) regulations. Does not contain food allergens.

What makes COLOR PLUS clay different?

Compared to natural pottery clays, COLOR PLUS clay is available in nice and bright colours and does not need firing. Once dry, the item becomes very solid and hard and can be decorated or varnished. The clay allows creating objects with difficult drying, free of cracks and fissures while drying. Compared to SIO-2 PLUS® natural clay, COLOR PLUS clay displays brighter colours.

In comparison to other air-drying clays, COLOR PLUS clay is made of minerals and natural clays, with plasticity noticeable at touch, but especially is recognizable by the lack of smell. In addition, COLOR PLUS clay can be thrown on a potter’s wheel.
