WOODEN STRETCHERS AND BARS

Our traditional stretched canvas are our most famous products. We use different kind of canvas, each of them is mainly suitable for a particular painting technique.The type of joint is specific for the realisation of the stretcher: our kind of joint is realised according to the Tuscan tradition and assures precision and resistance to torsion. Stretcher strips are connected with an angle of 45°on the side where the canvas stretches; so in case of expansion, the canvas is perfectly stretched. On the back side the stretchers cross with a 90° angle ensuring a perfect framing. The wedges, realised in hard wood, have a very acute angle which help to regulate the canvas tension.

We’re proud to offer a wide range of canvases in rolls in linen, cotton, jute, polyester and mixed fibers unprimed and primed, with different rolls’ lengths an widths. Our coatings: universal priming suitable for all painting techniques, the classic oil and gesso priming or the clear priming, the valuable Leonardesca canvas (its receipt is secretly kept) and the new inkjet canvases with glossy and matt preparation for water based or solvent/ecosolvent based colours.

Poly/cotton extra fine grain canvas paired with Artistico Fabriano 100% cotton paper – acid free.
Excellent absorption, very flat surface just after drying (even better if set on stretcher) and, in traditional use, high resistance against wrinkle and breaks, even in case of considerable amount of water, are to be listed among the main advantages of this product.

Paper Canvas is not only suitable for watercolours wet on wet or dry on wet technique, but for mixed techniques (tempera, gouache, acrylic, oil, ink and drawing) as well.

Available both in rolls and stretched.

An easy system to realise medium-big sizes of stretched canvases. Aluminium profiles grant considerable strength and resistance thanks to their high mechanical performances.

Few tools are needed to assemble the stretcher very quickly, and canvas tensioning can be precisely adjusted by using a simple screwdriver.
